Professor Jonathan Jansen obtained his PhD at Stanford University School of Education and his MS in Science Education at Cornell University. His most recent academic award is the Senior Africa Research Scholar Award (Fulbright, 2000-2001). He has held senior positions at various universities and centres in the areas of research, teaching and university administration. His most recent appointment is Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Pretoria. Professor Jansen has undertaken more than twenty international commissioned research and evaluation projects, as Curriculum Change Evaluator. Employed by the Academy for Educational Development, Washington DC he conducted a review of USAID curriculum support to the Namibian Government after independence and as Curriculum and Teacher Education Specialist he conducted an assessment of curriculum change in Zimbabwe since independence. Employed by Creative Associates International, Washington DC Professor Jansen is both editor and/or editorial board member for numerous accredited journals published locally and internationally. He boasts publications on education policy and curriculum change in academic and scientific journals and books, and has presented numerous research papers at local and international conferences.
